3 NUMMER 5 / SEPTEMBER 2025 Steeds minder geronk Van 7 t/m 13 april 2025 vond weer de enorme materieelvakbeurs bauma plaats op de Messe München. Goed voor zo’n 600.000 bezoekers uit ruim 200 landen en met maar liefs 3.601 exposanten uit 57 landen. Van 12 t/m 14 juni deden we het in Nederland dunnetjes over op de Technische Kontakt Dagen bij Sint-Oedenrode. Wat op beide materieelbeurzen opvalt: steeds minder geronk. Materieel voor de bouw en infra stond lange tijd synoniem voor heerlijk geronk en de geur van diesel. Voor vele liefhebbers toch een onderdeel van de totale beleving. Helaas zullen de liefhebbers van geronk en dieselgeuren het steeds moeilijker krijgen, want steeds meer materieel stoot nog nauwelijks of helemaal geen CO2 meer uit. Emissieloos bouwen met elektrische machines wordt de nieuwe norm. Zelfs de zwaarste machines zijn tegenwoordig al elektrisch verkrijgbaar. Het wordt dus steeds stiller op de materieelbeurzen. AI Veel innovaties zijn verder gericht op de voortschrijdende digitalisering en zelfs voorzichtige toepassingen van Artificial Intelligence (AI). Nieuwkomer Develon (voorheen Doosan) liet op de bauma 2025 de graafmachine met ‘Real X’ zien. Real X stelt de nieuwste rupsgraafmachines van Develon in staat om allerhande taken zelfstandig uit te voeren, waaronder sleuven graven, beladen van vrachtwagens en grootschalige grondwerken. Slecht nieuws voor de machinisten? Eerste het geronk en de dieselgeuren weg en nu gaat de machine ook nog zelf zijn werk doen? Gelukkig voor die beroepsgroep zal dat nog wel een tijdje op zich laten wachten. De digitalisering brengt ook een verhoging van de veiligheid met zich mee. Denk aan automatische detectie van personen of voorwerpen binnen het bereik van een machine. Maar ook de al langer bestaande automatische begrenzingen van hoogte en breedte. Uiteindelijk is het ultieme doel toch om steeds schoner, sneller, beter en goedkoper te werken.
